"Baudouin is a French impressionistic painter along with being a very imaginative designer. He was born in a small French village in 1860 and died in his home in 1931. He was a student at the L'Archeveque in Paris, and he was a member of the teaching staff at the Salon National in Paris. He exhibited at the Louvre during his lifetime. Badouin painted mostly rural scenes depicting the beautiful countryside of France, expressing his deep love for his country. His paintings are still hanging in the Louvre, and he is considered one of the finest impressionistic artists in France." - from the Hammer Gallery description on reverse of painting.
