This pair of Hitchcock style chairs from the early 20th Century are fine examples of the earlier period. Turned spindles and legs grace the klismos influenced seat. Stenciled flowers and gilt accents are highlighted on the ebonized wood. Appropriate wear on the original finish make this pair special. The caning has been replaced with a synthetic cane. Although unsigned, crayon markings inside the chair seats indicate an inventory number and price from a previous sale.

Eastlake Victorian Koken Barber Furniture Company Pier Mirror

Description: This impressive Victorian pier mirror, circa 1870's-1880's, was crafted by the Koken Company of St. Louis in the fashionable Eastlake style. Koken was famous for its barber shop furnishings including mirrored bar backs and the classic Koken barber chair. This mirror is from a historic East Texas estate. It is carved of tight grained mahogany and has a white marble base shelf. The condition is very good with an old repair to the crown. The beveled mirror has some silver loss.
